Mission Statement:
“Santa Barbara Summer Stock strives to produce wildly creative and unique showcases in theater, music, dance and art
for young people.”
For 30 years, Santa Barbara Summer Stock (SBSS) has been bringing its own brand of theater training and performance to families, young actors and audiences in the local Santa Barbara area.
A few points that make SBSS unique from other summer youth theater programs:
- Everybody acts, sings, and dances! All actors are guaranteed parts and lines in our plays. Our auditions are for casting purposes only.
- SBSS offers young directors, choreographers, technicians, writers, and staff assistants a place to develop and
practice their craft.
- Creative collaboration and input from our students is encouraged.
- Our plays are usually highly adapted works in order to provide maximum parts, creative license, lines, and participation for our young actors.
